Welcome to the 36th annual Riverhead Country Fair!
Our Fair has a rich and stories past which started as a day where people bought and sold vegetables, fruits, staples, livestock, and handmade foods and goods. The first version of the Fair ceased during the Great Depression. In 1976, as part of the bicentennial celebration, the Riverhead Country Fair was revived by a group
of volunteers, led by coordinators Pat Stark and Lana Anker. In 1983, Connie and Jim Lull took over.
This year marks only the third change in coordinators of the new Fair. Patrick Mulcahy was co-coordinator in 2010 where he worked closely with Connie and Jim in many different areas. He was curial in the transition of the Country Fair operations. He has had various responsibilities in the preparation and execution of the fair prior to becoming co-cordiantor. Patrick and his family moved to Riverhead Town in 1969 and purchased their first home here in 1983. His family (Pam, Ryan, Kevin, and Emily) have enjoyed coming to the Fair and celebrating the town for many years.
James P. Lull (Jim) has been an “unofficial” volunteer since he was in high school. Besides answering the fair phone, relaying weather reports, and taking messages, Jim has worked in a variety of roles. He was a member of the Country Fair 10K Race Committee for many years, ran errands, worked on the morning crew, and did various odd jobs.
Thank you to all the volunteers, professionals, vendors, competitors, performers, boaters, merchant, and anyone else who get together each October to make our Fair the very best.
We hope you enjoy our “little town-wide block party!”
